About Edward W. Wedbush
The true American success story of Edward W. Wedbush begins after he graduated high school. His father wanted him to find a job to assist with household bills, but he was passionate about pursuing an education. Mr. Wedbush received a scholarship to attend the University of Cincinnati where he earned a degree in engineering. He then received a scholarship from UCLA where he completed the MBA program. In 1955, he and his classmate Robert Werner formed a brokerage, but neither wanted to put their name on the business out of fear it would fail so they flipped a coin and Wedbush lost.
The company was originally named Wedbush & Company, and has since evolved into Wedbush Securities, which is a preeminent diversified, full-service, self-clearing, investment services and investment banking firm headquartered in Los Angeles, CA. The success of the firm is largely credited to the entrepreneurial spirit, and client-first approach that he fostered throughout the history of the organization.
He served as President and CEO for 63 years, and his dedication to clients and colleagues was and will remain unsurpassed. Learn more about Mr. Wedbush here.
