At the California Community Foundation (CCF), we believe that strong leadership is needed to advance our mission and create lasting impact in Los Angeles. We are pleased to announce two key leadership updates that will help drive our work forward.

Peter Hong will be joining CCF as Vice President of Marketing and Communications. In this role, Peter will shape our stories to communicate the urgency and impact of our work to community members, donors, and partners. He will also ensure our internal teams connect to CCF’s broader mission. Peter brings extensive experience in journalism, government service, and higher education leadership to this role. Before joining CCF, he was Editor-in-Chief of Capital & Main, an award-winning news site focused on inequality and the climate crisis. His background includes roles as a reporter at The Los Angeles Times, senior advisor to L.A. County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, and communications leader at multiple universities. His profound expertise in storytelling and public engagement will help amplify the voices of our communities and highlight the transformative work happening across Los Angeles.

Brooke Pinnix has been promoted to Vice President of Donor Relations, where she will lead efforts to strengthen relationships with donors and help them achieve their philanthropic goals. Since joining CCF six years ago, she has played an integral role in building trust with donors and advancing their impact. Most recently, she served as Director of Donor Relations. Before joining CCF, she led a successful capital campaign and donor stewardship efforts at the Ocean Discovery Institute. She held key roles at the Central Jersey Community Development Corporation and the Child Mind Institute. With her passion for philanthropy and deep understanding of donor needs, Brooke will continue to help individuals, families, and corporations make a meaningful impact in communities across Los Angeles.

We are excited to welcome Peter to the CCF team and celebrate Brooke’s well-earned promotion. Their leadership will be crucial in advancing our commitment to equity, resilience, and community-driven change. To learn more about CCF’s work and how to get involved, visit www.calfund.org.
