When catastrophic wildfires swept across Los Angeles County on January 7, 2025, the devastation to families and communities was immediate and profound. The very next day, CCF activated its Wildfire Recovery Fund, quickly rallying donors and community partners to deliver life-saving support to thousands of residents facing displacement and loss.
With financial relief going out just days after the January wildfires, the California Community Foundation helped keep several local schools afloat with supplies and filled gaps when enrollments plummeted.
On January 1, 2026, wildfire survivors will represent the thousands of families and individuals whose homes and communities were forever changed by the 2025 Eaton and Palisades fires with a Rose Parade® presented by Honda float honoring the resilience, courage and unity of wildfire survivors from Altadena, Malibu, Pacific Palisades and Pasadena.
Months after wildfires ravaged Altadena, Pasadena, Palisades and Malibu, these neighborhood events aren’t just offering good food and fun. They are fostering social connections – a powerful path to healing and recovery from disaster.
