On March 27, the California Community Foundation with the Liberty Hill Foundation hosted the 2025 Ready to Rise Cohort Summit, gathering more than 200 leaders, advocates, and youth-serving professionals from across Los Angeles County.

The event brought together 96 nonprofit organizations, both new and alumni grantees of Ready to Rise, for a full day of connection, learning, and celebration. Ready to Rise provides crucial capacity-building support that enables organizations to expand their reach and impact. Grantees have participated in over 7,000 hours of leadership development training, coaching, and planning, enhancing their organizational capacity.

With powerful spoken word, peer-to-peer reflections, capacity-building sessions, and a vibrant alumni panel, the summit elevated the power of proximity, healing, and community-rooted leadership.

This year’s alumni grantees included Empower Her Institute, Sharefest, Girls Club LA, A Place Called Home and Bridge Builders Foundation. CCF remains deeply committed to driving systemic change, strengthening cross-sector collaboration, and reimagining a justice system that supports, rather than punishes, our youth. Ready to Rise is more than just a program—it’s a growing movement to transform how we invest in young people and champion their potential.

Ready to Rise is a public-private partnership committed to investing in youth-serving organizations that prioritize prevention over detention, opportunity creation, and youth justice—not punishment. This event marked not just a launch, but a movement in motion. For more information, please visit readytorise.la
