The Tongil Peace Foundation
The Tongil Peace Foundation was established in 2020 by individual donors who share a vision of One Korea. They include long-time activists, grassroots organizers, scholars, and teachers. The Foundation provides financial and technical support to organizations working for the goal of peace and reunification on the Korean peninsula.
Since the armistice in 1953, which stopped but did not end the Korean War, thousands of Koreans in the U.S. have dedicated their lives to fulfilling the dream of a peaceful, reunited country. Tragically, Korea is still divided today, keeping thousands of families apart, and putting millions at risk of hostilities in a highly militarized region.
The Tongil Peace Foundation will support a new generation of organizations to realize the long-sought goals of peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula. The Foundation honors the collective work of past generations while aiming to energize new peace efforts for the future.
The Foundation welcomes contributions to support efforts for ending the Korea war, demilitarizing the peninsula, reuniting families, and realizing the dream of One Korea.
