Tag You’re It! Foundation

Sebastian ManiscalcoJust For Laughs’ Stand Up Comedian of the Year Sebastian Maniscalco and his wife Lana Gomez set up the Tag You’re It! Foundation as a way to directly support the causes close to their heart. The fund, set up with CCF in 2016, supports U.S. veterans, Alzheimer’s disease and children’s education on a local and national level. Tag You’re It! not only allows the couple to make a real impact by seeing their efforts go directly to the recipients, but it also grants them the opportunity to raise awareness around the causes.

Sebastian finds value in donating real dollars to each of the three causes of the Tag You’re It! Foundation, as each cause speaks to him in different ways. After watching his grandfather suffer through Alzheimer’s disease and seeing how it affected his family, he found offering help for those affected and future victims an interest of his. The funds donated to helping Alzheimer’s will aim to fuel research and assist with care. Indicative of the foundation’s name, Sebastian feels passionate about giving back to those who give up so much to protect him. Those who give up their lives and volunteer to protect our country are so honorable, and their selflessness is inspiring, so donating to help U.S. veterans, for an array of issues they face after their service, was an obvious choice for the comedian. Education is power, so Sebastian felt it necessary to make children’s education the third cause his fund would contribute to. Passion for this cause came from Sebastian’s beliefs that the implementing and emphasizing of education at an early age is for the betterment of the future of our world.

The Tag You’re It! Foundation was named based on the idea of paying it forward by giving back to those who need it, as others did for Sebastian on his journey to success, all while “tagging” others to do the same along the way. His current international WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? TOUR contributes to the Tag You’re It! Foundation by donating $1 for every ticket sold to support the causes.
