Confronting the Climate Crisis, Building Resilience

The escalating climate crisis poses an existential threat to Los Angeles, with marginalized communities facing disproportionate impacts. Rising temperatures, intensifying wildfires, and disrupted food systems are not just environmental issues—they are systemic inequities that demand urgent action.

The California Community Foundation (CCF) is committed to empowering communities to adapt and thrive in the face of climate change. By investing in long-term wildfire recovery, advancing food equity, and strengthening disaster preparedness, we tackle the root causes of vulnerability while promoting sustainability and justice.

Our focus extends beyond immediate relief—we are building resilient systems and advocating for policies that address the climate crisis at its core. Through collaboration with government, nonprofits, and the private sector, we ensure that every Angeleno has the resources and support needed to withstand and overcome environmental challenges.

Our Strategic Priority Projects

Climate change is disrupting global food systems, disproportionately impacting low-income communities. The LA County Food Equity Roundtable, a grantee of CCF, addresses food insecurity by improving access to nutritious food for underserved communities and driving systemic changes to build long-term resilience.
