Sustainability
- Overview
The California Community Foundation envisions a Los Angeles where all nonprofit organizations are sustainable and viable. We aim to provide nonprofits with the tools they need to achieve their missions with greater efficiency and impact.
In our priority grantmaking, we use a variety of tools to help our nonprofit partners create long-term systemic change. And through the Nonprofit Sustainability Initiative (NSI), CCF and its funding partners seek to foster long-term partnerships for nonprofits that are interested in exploring strategic restructuring.
We believe sustainable nonprofits have a strategic plan, strong leadership and an engaged board. In addition, they have an established financial position and are continually improving and partnering with others. Our goal is to support and encourage our grantee partners on a path toward long-term sustainability while providing access to tools and resources that can help the broader nonprofit community achieve these goals. To do so, we focus on critical areas, including:
- Strategic/Business Model Planning
- Financial Leadership
- Board Development
- Collaborations and Restructuring through the Nonprofit Sustainability Initiative (NSI)
- Leadership Development and Succession Planning
