But in recent years, the story of this place has often been told through numbers: soaring housing costs, rising homelessness, widening inequality, shrinking trust in institutions. What’s too often missing are the voices behind those numbers — the Angelenos who live with the consequences of policy choices every day.
When catastrophic wildfires swept across Los Angeles County on January 7, 2025, the devastation to families and communities was immediate and profound. The very next day, CCF activated its Wildfire Recovery Fund, quickly rallying donors and community partners to deliver life-saving support to thousands of residents facing displacement and loss.
