Jean Roth Driskel Scholarship
“The JRD scholarship has had a serious impact in my life. Not only does it allow for more financial stability by mitigating my school debts, but it has also provided a boost in my self-confidence in this rigorous architecture program.” Alexander Castro, Fall 2022, Cal Poly Pomona
Established in 1971 to honor the first woman Chapter President, the JRD scholarships are awarded annually to four students: two Community College students and two University students, in recognition of their dedication, enthusiasm, and ability in the field of architecture. In recent years, National AIA has contributed an additional scholarship to each of the recipients. Since 2001, the program has been ably administered by the JRD Scholarship Committee under the leadership of Ken Long, AIA. In that period, the committee has interviewed over 300 candidates and awarded over 40 scholarships. This program has contributed to AIA Pasadena-Foothill’s exceptional reputation for supporting emerging professionals. Your support is vital.
