Vera de Vera

Growing up on the Long Beach Naval Station, listening to the stories and music of my Filipino immigrant parents, and promoting resident empowerment through public-private-philanthropic partnerships in communities like El Monte are all part of my Los Angeles story. My legacy will provide flexible funding for the changing needs of my county over the next 100 years.

The California Community Foundation partnered with StoryCorps to record the stories of our Centennial Legacy Society members. StoryCorps is a national nonprofit whose mission is to provide all people with the chance to record, preserve, and share the stories of our lives.
