“Anything that promotes cross-cultural understanding is something that we are very interested in from the philanthropy perspective.”

As the children of an advocate for coal miners and a diplomat to Hiroshima, respectively, our lives have been about building cultural bridges, helping women get a leg up through entrepreneurship, and actively donating to local community organizations. Our legacy will give longevity to our vision through providing scholarships and micro-loans in Los Angeles and around the world that promote our values.
The California Community Foundation partnered with StoryCorps to record the stories of our Centennial Legacy Society members. StoryCorps is a national nonprofit whose mission is to provide all people with the chance to record, preserve, and share the stories of our lives.
