“What I’m most proud of is the talent I helped develop. At CCF, the policies that I embedded in the institution and the people that I’ve trained to carry on are going to be the legacy of what I did.”

My father is a brilliant man who taught himself to read and write. My mother worked hard to help her children attain an education. My legacy at CCF is the programs that bring disadvantaged residents of Los Angeles County the skills and opportunities they need to succeed. From micro-loans for low-income women, to citizenship corners in every library to loans for preschools, childcare centers and community clinics, these programs ensure CCF is reflective and inclusive of the diverse community it serves.
The California Community Foundation partnered with StoryCorps to record the stories of our Centennial Legacy Society members. StoryCorps is a national nonprofit whose mission is to provide all people with the chance to record, preserve, and share the stories of our lives.
