We regularly help donors who want to support international organizations. Federal rules can be complex, and failure to follow them can lead to major tax penalties on the giver. To address this, our grantmaking team performs a thorough due diligence process on international grants, from determining an organization’s public charity status to investigating their financial and organizational stability.

If the charity cannot provide sufficient information to confirm their status, we can also help donors find an organization connected to a U.S.-based charity who might be better able to receive the gift.
