California Disaster Fund

California Disaster Fund supports disaster preparedness efforts and resiliency planning. Our experience responding to devastating wildfires through the Wildfire Relief Fund has taught us the importance of being prepared.

We are a region susceptible to a variety of natural disasters thus promoting and supporting the safety and resiliency of all residents is a leading priority for CCF. Preparedness saves lives, alleviates suffering and protects our success as a region.

We are fostering relationships that allow for a swift and effective immediate, mid- and long-term response in the face of catastrophic disasters. And strive to connect with nonprofits and community-based organizations, local government and the private sector to improve capacity through community engagement and strategic grantmaking with a focus on low-income and other vulnerable populations.

We are currently developing a landscape analysis of the state of coordinated preparedness and resiliency in Los Angeles County. Analysis will reveal how connected and strong our social safety nets are. Our future philanthropic investments will be prioritized by need, geographic vulnerability and will also consider linguistically and culturally competent preparedness initiatives.
