California Community Foundation Announces 23 L.A. Artist Fellowship Recipients

CCF Fellowship for Visual Artists invests in mid-career and emerging visual artists to build successful, sustainable careers in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES – July 17, 2013 – California Community Foundation (CCF) has announced 23 mid-career and emerging visual artists living and working in Los Angeles as recipients of the CCF Fellowship for Visual Artists for 2013.  Since 1988 with a generous contribution to CCF from The J. Paul Getty Trust, the fellowship program has supported more than 215 of L.A.‘s visual artists working in a multitude of media and forms with more than $2.1 million in grants and access to business development support.

The CCF Fellowship for Visual Artists is part of the portfolio of the Arts Program of the community foundation, a public charitable organization committed to strengthening the cultural vitality of L.A. County by increasing the operational capacity of small and mid-size arts and cultural organizations, increasing arts opportunities that are affordable and accessible to underserved communities, improving participation in the arts by diverse, low-income residents and professional artists, and helping visual artists develop successful, sustainable careers in Los Angeles.

The artwork and biographies of current and past fellows are available online in the CCF Fellowship for Visual Artists virtual art gallery (www.calfund.org/artist-gallery), as well as on Facebook (www.facebook.com/ccfartists).
