The California Black Women and Girls Social and Economic Impact
The California Black Women and Girls Social and Economic Impact Fund addresses the need to improve Black Women’s and girls’ lives by supporting organizations, communities, efforts, and initiatives that work to close equity and disparity gaps specifically for Black Women and girls.
According to the 2018 State of Black Women In California report, Black Women are more likely than any other race to:
- Be single breadwinners
- Live in poverty
- Face significant barriers regarding pathways to success economically, socially, and professionally
- Have the highest death rates from preventable diseases
Historically, Black Women have been at the forefront of change with an unwavering commitment to address and breakdown systemic barriers for all marginalized communities. Together we can help the women who have been the unsung heroes of change achieve more equitable and just outcomes.
