Advisor Lynne Knox is no stranger to making her voice heard. “As the only girl in my family, it was challenging to get a word in. But through the encouragement of my mother, I learned to speak up and ask for what I needed.”

In her role as senior vice president and investment counselor for Capital Group Private Client Services, Lynne shares her mother’s gift, helping clients, particularly women, navigate difficult times, find the help they need and take control of their lives.

“A client’s husband died very suddenly in his early 40s, leaving her to raise their young children alone,” Lynne said. “My job was to walk beside her and help her deal with financial decisions in the midst of such grief.”

When the client wanted to create a lasting legacy for her husband, the California Community Foundation was the natural strategic partner. They helped set up a scholarship fund for Lynne’s client to support other families who had lost a parent. To date, the fund has given out more than 100 scholarships.
