Goal:

Increase the participation of diverse, ethnic and low-income individuals and communities in the arts.

 

 



Sample descriptions of organizations whose funding requests are:

MORE LIKELY TO BE COMPETITIVE

LESS LIKELY TO BE COMPETITIVE

A performing arts organization located in a low-income community whose central programming is to provide local artists opportunities to create and perform their work in a community space to a multigenerational audience with low-cost or free tickets. A performing arts organization whose outreach program goes into a community or provides transportation to its own facility to provide afterschool programs and in-school performances with a K-12 population as a way to serve populations outside of their primary audience.
A multidisciplinary arts organization that creates year-round opportunities for artists to teach and residents to engage in culturally specific art-making and locally presents/exhibits their work. A multidisciplinary arts organization that produces an annual one-day cultural festival.
