The Coming Home Project is devoted to providing compassionate care, support and stress management tools for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their families. It offers free, confidential group support and stress management workshops and retreats for OIF and OEF veterans and families. It is the community service arm of the Deep Streams Zen Institute. Founded in 2000, the institute's mission is to help health care providers incorporate a sense of mindfulness in their care of and services to ill and traumatized people. |
Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA)

Three-year general operating support for programs and services that: empower OEF and OIF vets to effectively use the media to document their wartime experiences; advocate for policies that improve the well-being of combat troops; use community building tools to help veterans transition successfully to civilian life; and to expand IAVA’s capacity to manage the impact of the Ad Council's "Veterans Support" campaign.

Since 2004, IAVA works to ensure the enactment of policies that properly provide for America’s troops and veterans and helps to empower Iraq and Afghanistan combat veterans to use their credibility and experiences to speak out about their experiences, shape public opinion and place a priority on these issues.

Founded in 2003, Jacob’s Light delivers care packages to men and women in all branches of the military, often targeting those without family or support from home. With support from more than 500 volunteers, Jacob's Light now sends approximately 10,000 pounds a month of toiletries, snacks, magazines, holiday treats, letters and other supplies to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Three-year general support of the Combat Casualty Assistance/ Visiting Nurses Program, which delivers professional case management and critical emotional and physical support to Marines and sailors injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. Support services range from hospitalization to an extended resettlement period once troops are home. |
Founded in 1904, the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is a nonprofit organization sponsored by the Department of the Navy and operates nearly 250 offices ashore and afloat at Navy and Marine Corps bases throughout the world. It provides financial, educational and other assistance to members of the Naval Services of the United States and their eligible family members and survivors, when in need. |

Since 2002, Operation Homefront has provided aid to military families struggling not only with emergencies, but also the problems of everyday life. It operates dozens of chapters in states with the highest rates of deployment. Operation Homefront hosts the Web community Operation Homefront Online, an online community that includes resources for veterans and their families. |

Three-year general operating support to expand TAPS' capacity to meet the rapidly increasing requests for its critical and unique emotional support services for troops, family members and friends of warriors who have died in combat, committed suicide, or otherwise suffered death related to OEF/OIF deployment. |
In addition to the sessions for children, TAPS provides a support network and offers a wide range of programs and services to the families and friends of those who have died in service to America. TAPS caseworkers help families navigate a complicated bureaucracy to find solutions to difficult problems. Since 1994, TAPS' peer-based support programs have helped parents, siblings, friends and other loved ones address such issues as grief, trauma, suicide and more. TAPS was founded in 1994.
