We provide grants and loans to eligible nonprofits through our core program areas, civic engagement initiatives and special initiatives. Review the list below to decide which opportunity best suits your organization.
Competitive Grants - not currently accepting applications
We provide grants to eligible nonprofits in the following areas: arts, education, health care, human development (elderly and foster youth) and neighborhood revitalization (affordable housing).
Community Experience Partnership - not currently accepting applications
This multiyear, three-phase national initiative mobilizes the experience, talents and skills of baby boomers (born between 1946 and 1964) to benefit the communities where they live and work.
El Monte Community Building Initiative - deadline: July 19, 2010; awards announced Oct. 2010
This is a 10-year effort to revitalize the community by engaging residents and developing their leadership, and improving their physical environment and social services.
FEDCO Teacher Grants -Grant requests accepted Aug. 16 - Oct. 15, 2010
FEDCO Teacher Grants are awarded annually to fund hands-on, classroom projects or field trips that help bring learning to life. Grants range from $500 to $1,000 and support teachers of students in grades kindergarten through 12 in Cerritos, Culver City, Norwalk-La Mirada, Pasadena and Los Angeles Unified school districts.
Fellowships for Visual Artists - not currently accepting applications
We provide annual one-year fellowships to outstanding emerging and mid-career artists working in the visual arts.
Immigrant Integration Initiative - not currently accepting applications
This is a five-year effort to increase immigrants’ ownership of their communities, and to help them contribute more to our society and the local economy to build stronger communities.
Los Angeles Preschool Advocacy Initiative - not currently accepting applications
This is a multiyear effort to help underserved communities gain access to quality early care and preschool education.
Program Related Investments - not currently accepting applications
We provide Program-Related Investments (PRIs), which are low-interest loans
to community development financial institutions
to extend the reach of our grantmaking.
