ABC7 & Firefighters Spark of Love Toy Drive Fund

Every year, thousands of children experience a Christmas morning with no gifts to open. To help tackle this crisis, ABC7 and Southland firefighters host the “Spark of Love Toy Drive.” With love and support of “Spark of Love Toy Drive” donors and sponsors, children across Southern California will receive a new toy each holiday season.

The “Spark of Love Toy Drive” runs from Nov. 21, 2009 through Dec. 24, 2009

Donate now and help ABC7 and the Southland's firefighters make a different in a child's life this holiday season. All proceeds will go to buying toys or sports equipment for children.

Drop off a new, unwrapped toy or sports equipment at any local fire station. Firefighters from Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties along with Los Angeles City firefighters will collect the gifts and distribute them to underserved children in our local communities.

With help from “Spark of Love Toy Drive” donors, partners and sponsors, more than 600,000 toys were collected last year. This year, ABC7 hopes to double this number.

The "Spark of Love Toy Drive Fund" was created in 2004 at the California Community Foundation to provide toys or sports equipment for underserved children during the holiday season in Southern California.

Contributions to the California Community Foundation represent irrevocable gifts subject to the legal and fiduciary control of the foundation's board of directors.
