My angel is an homage the paths we take and hope for when it comes to accessing all the tools needed in order to receive equality in education for inner city youth. >As a person of color and with physical challenges, I know how daunting accessing the same dreams as many others in terms of education and employment can be for all those who are labeled as different or minority can be. As a child I was told by my grandmother that birds were heavens messengers. My birds messenger arrives striking a spark of possibility through literature. It carries a message that I hope can stay in the back of the early mind that will be told through their years that they may dream but not achieve their goals because of their color or financial status. I hope the seed of belonging and the ability to dream can stay with them.
