Reading is the Way Up Fund
The Reading is the Way Up Fund was established by City National
Bank to create a funding resource to purchase books for school
libraries in California.
In addition to buying books, this City National Bank community
initiative includes book drives, encouraging volunteers
to read in local schools, working with schools to improve libraries,
and creating special events to get kids excited about reading,
sending mascot Blue to schools across the state.
Research confirms that children learn better when they have access
to books. Yet today California's public school libraries are out-of-date
and understocked.
By ensuring that the state's K-12 public schools have the necessary
resources to create and maintain their libraries, City National
Bank's Reading is the Way Up initiative will help California's
children discover the joy of reading and experience a lifelong
love of books.
Individuals can help kids learn to love reading and improve our
school libraries by making a secure, tax-deductible contribution
